The Croquet Committee reported an increase of nine members, the membership i'ow standing at 21. The 1919 season was. on tho whole, a very satisfactory one, and the beginners are to be heartily congratulated on tho splendid progress they made in leirninrr the gamo. Tho dub had a most enjoyable outing *6 Outram, but, owing' to' tlio lateness of the season, a retuirn. match could not be played. The committee hopes, however, to begin matches earlier this season, and is looking forward to moetincr the'Outram players at Maori Hill. The committee desires to thank the General Committee for the interest it has (jiicon in tho croquet section, and also Mr Thompson., for the carefu\ way he has at tended to the lawns.

Since its inception, some 15 years ago, the club tvad grown steadily year by year, and the membership, including the tennis and croquet sections, now exceeded 200. The fact that the bowling section was placed fourth on the list in the interclub fixtures was highly creditable, especially when it was remembered that ma,ny of tho players were beginners. Much of the credit was due to tho .-ielector, Mr J. Wilson, whose aim hnd been to givo everyone a game where such Was possible, and the result had been thatthey had made very rapid progress towards acquiring proficiency. Tho motion was _ seconded by Mr W. Wright and carried "unanimously. On tho motion of Messrs S. N. Brown and W. Andrew, the adoption of the balance sheet was cairried alter a short discussion.
