The Ruth Lodge, No. 3, 1.0.0. F., held its usual fortnightly meeting in the Albany Street Hall on Thursday. Tlie business was speedily put through. A social had been arranged to bid farewell to Sister Reid, P.N.G., daughter of the grand secretary, Bro. Wm. Reid, who will leave on a prolonged visit to South America. Visitors were present from various lodges, also D.D.G.M. Bro. Ripley and P.D.D.G.M. Bros. Johnson and ICilpatrick. N.G. Sis. Kilpatrick called on P.N.G. Sis. Wilson to make the presentation, which took the form of a gold pendant, with an emblem of the order on it. Si?. Reid responded with a few well-chosen words. Supper was served, and games indulged in, a most enjoyable evening being brought to a close by the singing oi "For She's a Jolly Good Fellow" and "Auld Lang Syne." A racehorse runs a mile in less than two • minutes. A fast locomotive can do it in one minute, and the aeroplane faster still. The housewife takes even less time to prepare a delicious cup of coffee from Stevenson's Essence of Coffeo and Chicory. A teaspoonful of essence, boiling water added I and coffee is ready in record time. Only n, moment to make, but how good when made. —Advt.
