LATE MR MACDONALD

FUNERAL OBSEQUEIES. (Peb United Pbsss Association.) GISBOIINE, September 3.' The funeral of the late Hon. W. D. S. Mac Donald was one of the largest held in Gisbornc, tho -whole district, from Napier to the East Cape and lauranga, being represented, aa well as friends from Wellington. Tho body arrived from tho south (his morning, and was taken from tho steamer Arahura to the Presbyterian Church, where a service was held. Tho pall-bearers were the Hon. A. T. Ngata, Messrs G. W. Forbes, F. F. Hockley (members of Parliament), Mr Wildish. (Mayor of Gisborne), Mr Matthews (chairman of tho local County Council), Mr Tulloeh (chairman of the Waikolm County Council). The mourners included tho Hon. W. Nosworthy, Mr T. E. Y. Scddori, M.P., representatives of Government departments, and members of every local body in tho Poverty Bay and Bay of Plenty districts. Tho motor cars in the cortege ertended almost a mile, and tho route from tho town, to n°ir Makaraka Cemetery was lined 'with, people.
