KHALIFAT AGITATORS. ANTI-BRITISH PROPAGANDA. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. DELHI, September 2. Khalifat agitat-ors have been busy lately on the Indian frontier, and their antiBritish propaganda, together with intrigues among the frontier tribes, have caused a serious outbreak at Jalgali in the north-west provinces. The town 'was attacked by tribesmen, and a notorious agitator attempted to form a provisional Government. A British column set out from Peshawar, though threatened by large armed crowds, and the ringleaders of the outbreak were brought to Peshawar. The Black Mountain tribes have now joined the rebels, and military measures are being taken.—A. and N.Z. Cable. BRITISH OFFICER MURDERED. DELHI, September 2. Captain Salmon, of the Devon Regiment, the Assistant Political Officer °at Kifri, who was taken prisoner last week, has been murdered by tribesmen.—A and N.Z. Cable.
