MILITARY OFFICERS CAPTURED

RAID ON POLICE BARRACKS.

LONDON, June 28. (Received June 28. at 5.5 p.m.) Disguised men raided a fishing hut at Castle Mowrrroche, Countv Cork, whero Brigadier-general Lucas and two colonels were sleeping after a day's sport. The raiders seized the sleepers in the ■ Tin.mo of the Irish Republic and a.lso seized a motor car, from which one colonel jumped in attempting to escape. He -was shot seriously, and tlie other colonel was permitted to attend to him. and he was then taken to Fermoy Hospital. The Sinn Femers departed -with Brigadier-general Lucas to an unknown destination. Between 200 and 3CO armed men attacked Borrisobane Barracks, near Nenagh, in the early hours of the morning. A sergeant and six constables stubbornly defended, and the firing lasted for three hours. The _ attackers threw sods of turf saturated with petrol, setting ffre to the barracks, and the roof of the building was shattered. The raiders departed at daybreak.
