The Waihi Company's 103 th dividend, of Is •per share; was payable on Tuesday last. Iu absorbed £24,795 7s, and brought the total amcvnt paicll by the company in dividends uo to £5,226,885 I3s Bd. There are at present 2159 shareholders on the colonial rc or iste'* owiiing 199,479 short s. ° The operations of the American Gold JJiedgmg Syndicate at the Rimu Plat (\Veet 'Coast) are beginning to assume quits imposing proportions. This is one ,of iho largest •enterprises of the kind in the dominion (writes tho Christchurch correspondent of the New Zealand Herarld). The'ground to bo worked is extremely rough, consisting mainly of lar°-o etones, but the area has been thoroughly prospected by boring ancl shafting, with encouraging results. A large dam, for the new dredge iias just deem excavated, and the old dredge is now being dismantled.
