RETURNED SOLDIERS' ASSOCIATION.

The monthly general meeting of members of tlio Duncdin .Returned Soldiers' Associolion who Jield last night, Mr U. R. M'Loan presiding until the arrival of tl»e president, l>r Harrison. Mr M'Loan stated that fcho executive, had not had timo to prepare, a monthly report of their Activities owing to tho visit of tho Prince of Wiiles, but next month a report would be submitted covering tlio work of two nnontlifl. Tlio Town Cleric wrote atating tliat, with further reference, to tho matter of tramway passes to disabled soldiers, tho City Council had decided to grant free passes to all returned soldiers who have aot the full uso of their means of locomotion. Applications for those patscß must be made through the Returned Soldiers' Association and each applicant musi furnish a medical cortificato setting forth tlio nature of his disability. Tho passes would be reviewed annually.—Tlio Secretary stated that when Colonel Gabitos was local A.D.M.S. he lwd expressed his willingness to examine applicants free, of charge. In the meantime the president would attend to the matter of the examination of tho men.—Mr M'l/can said if, was very gratifying to know that tho efforts of the association had been successful in this matter. —The letter was received. A member stated that there were, still several men who were not returned soldiers employed in tho local Defence Department. and it was decided that a deputation wait on the O.C district in regard to the matter. Tho Secretory read tho remits from Win Dnnedin Association, which will be placed before the conference of New Zealand Returned Soldiers' Association in WoUinnrron next week.—Dr Harrison said that the most important remit was that dealing with pensions. Since the Pensions Bill had been .passed the cost, of livincr had increased fully SO per cent., and an effort would be mnrl« to get tho pensions increased in order to bring: them into lino with the increased cost of living.
