AUSTRALIAN , SOLDIERS' GRATUITIES.
TO THE EDITOB. Snt,—A decision of importance to Australian soldiers resident in the dominion has been reached by the Commonwealth Government. The applications for bonds for the war gratuity have now been distributed to post offices. It has transpired that a number of soldiera who have left Australia havo given power of attorney or authority to collect their gratuity to a friend, relative, or agent in Australia. These orders will -not be honoured or in any way recognised by tho Commonwealth Government. The soldier should got in communication with the headquarters of the military district from which he enlisted, and make application for his bond, which will bo sent to him at his present address. The gratuity is at the rate of Iβ 6d per day, from date of embarkation for overseas to Peace Day (June 29, 1919).--I etc.,
