EMPIRE THEATRE
Despite tho weather conditions on Saturday, there wore largo attaioances at the Empire Theatre, where a complete change of programme was shown. The principal film was a drama, "The Climbers," in which Corinno Griffith plays the part of a girl reared in the lap of luxury, but who marries a cad, whoso on y object m to got the we of her wealth. Her husband openly carries on a- love affair with a notorious woman. A rush speculation sees tho wealth disappear, and tljo husband becomes a criminal, increasing tho already heavy burden of oaro weighing upon tho wretched Blanche. But an old suitor comee to her aid and tho events'which follow give the various participants in the film plenty of Hcope and keep patrons in a. state of constant interest and attention, lhe heroine marries the right man in the end, but it is less tho story than the numerous incidents and magnificent settings that please the onlookers. Good supports were provided these consisting of tho latest lopical Gazette a soenic, an educational him, and a good comedy. The same programme will be shown at the sessions to-day.
