The High Commissioner for Canada (Sir G. H. Perley) presented a Canadian flag, the New Zealand High Commissioner (Sir Thos. Mackenzie) presented tho New Zealand flag, Colonel Herbert (for the High Commissioner of the Union of South Africa) presented the South African flag, and Mr Robert Bush, on behalf of General Birdweod, presented the Australian Imperial Forces flag. Sir Thomas Mackenzie said that they were thanked for helping the Mother Country, but they remembered what the Mother Country had done for the dominions in the earlier days in expending blood and treasure. 'WASHINGTON, May 21. (Received May 23, at 5.5 p.m.) Sir Auckland Geddes, British Ambassador, speakinc at the National Citizens' Educational Conference, said that the war had shown that the success of a nation depended on the nation's schools, but one country could not copy the forms of machinery for education from another.
