It was reported on the Manchester ExcfiMifip. if» February that nearly 200 mills, containing 17 or 18 million spindles, and employing 60,000 operatives, have now been sold to syndicates in Oldham, Heywood Ashton, Stoekport, Stalybridge, Manchester, Boltcm, Wigan, Afiherton. and Leigh districts. The total amount paid for those properties esceeds £40,000,000.
