EASTER BOWLING TOURNAMENT

PAIRS COMPETITION. Saturday was spent by bowlers on the Pairs competition in connoction with tho Easter bowling tournament, the greens engaged being Caledonian, ICnituna, Roslyn, Dunedin, N.E. Valley, Baknacewen, St. Kilda, St. Clair, Mid Cavcrsham. All these played ve-xy well, and were again extremely keen. Tho Paira contost waa played on. precisely tho eamo prineiplo as tho llinka competition—a qualifying round, winners passing into the Provincial and losers into the City Pairs. Sectional play did not take place on every green, a decreased number of players allotted to each green malting that unnecessary or impossible. Kaituna, for example, had three winning and three losing doubles, and the threo for the Provincial and City were not, of course, equally divisible. The weather was again perfect for bowling'. The trophies for tho Provincial Pairs ajre valued at £i and £3, and for tho City Pairs at £3 and £2. Tho first prize-takers in the Provincial Paira iUeo receive a framed certificate, an additional one being presented to the clttb to which they belong. CALEDONIAN GREEN. Qualifying Round. J. W.
