The dockers' Court of Inquiry recommended a minimum of 16s per day for all workers. It also reconimends that a central fund be established to enable the industry to make provision for unemployment. The award thus concedes the workers' demands. TRAM WORKERS' DEMANDS. LONDON, March 30. Tho Industrial Council failed to solve tho tram and bus dispute, the men rejecting tho offer of a 4s weekly increase. The Ministry of Labour has now intervened. Later. Mr Hodge;; advises the miners to accept the Government's offer. There i.i a general feeling' that there is now little likelihood of the Miners' Federation gaining a two-thirds majority necessary, for a strike. PARIS, March 31. _ Serious rioting has occurred in Roubaix district (Northern France) owing to the refusal of textile workers to accept a rise amounting to 3.66 times their pre-war wage, this representing the increased cost of living) Many acts of vjolenca have boen reported.
