FATAL GIG ACCIDENT.

(Pa» U SITED PRBBS Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, January 20. A horse attached to a gig, in which there were riding Mr 3 M. B. Miller, Mrs E. Blogg, and Violet Ruth MHller, a-ged four years, daughter of Mr J. W. Miller, of Chaneys, too!: fright while crossing the white bridge on the Kaiapoi rood this afternoon, and. swerving, otmsed Mrs Blogg and the girl Miller to bo thrown ailt. The latter fell on the back of her head and was killed instantaneously. Mrs Blogg is guff wring from severe shook and bruises.

Mr John M'Donald, a well-known stock deader, who has resided' in Tapanui for about 30 years, died suddenly on Monday evening. He was engaged bringing gome sheep in for th> shearing shed at his Dalvey Run property, and was seen to fall from his horso. Deceased had been under medical treatment for some time past. Death was due to heart faDwre.—Own correspondent.
