Tho weather was fayourable. Ini the morning further eliminating rounds ol tho singles championship were played, and in. the afternoon, before a large number of spectators, tho (inals of the rinks and doubles championships took place. The rink skipped by A. P. London, which! lias ployed con3ieJ«sntly well throughout tha tournament, won the Dominion of Nuw Zealand Bowling Association Chaaiupio'nship Banner on th'< Inst head by ono point, but throughout tho game which took four hours to complete, tho norfclu'.m men nearly always had an advarjtage over thoir opponcnte, the Dunedin rrnk skipped by Harrotway. D:nnrin.g shoto by THlley (Wanganui'a third) and drivca by Lundon were a featore of the game. The splendid exhibition of bowling by Tilleyf served more than, anything elae to give Wangranui tho winning position. With the exception of Stewart fDunedin's third) the losing rink did not play up to its usual farm. Dunedin was five (town at the end of the nineteenth head, and Stewart'purposely burnt when Ha rink was lying one up. On the head being replayed Stewaft secured one and Baxrnway two shots, moking the scare—Wanganiti 18, Dunedin IG. In tie last bend Dnnedin'a lead (Bishop) and second (Hogg) were lying to advantage, when TiDey scattered the head, leaving tho kitty close to the ditch, and IlaiTaway succeeded in drawing only one shot. In the doubles game the socree setyeawed until the nineteenth head, when Spillcr gained! and maintained the load Unlito the rinks game, the pains wore mot afraid to take risJso, and the contest botwecn Stratford! (Jjyaaa and Smart) and Sydenham (Tnrnball and Spiller) was more interesting to watch. With ono head to go the soore was 19—16 in Sydenham's favour, and good drawing by Lyons gave the Stratford eJtip am opportunity to pull the game out of the firo.
