EVERYBODY'S THEATRE

A crowded house witnessed tho screening 1 of the new programme at Everybody's Theatro yesterday afternoon. The chief attraction was "That Winchester Woman," featuring Alioe Joyce, who is described as the "classic beauty of the screen." The story unfolded by the film concerns the lives of David Berinton and Mrs Ann Wharton and tho former's daughter Julia. At the time tho drama commences Mrs Wharton is staying at Berinton's house. Julia returns home from school, and subsequently confides in the older woman, telling he* that Bhe had met a very charming man during her train journey, and ho was coming to see her in his oar. This man proves to be Allan Woodward, who knows Ann Wharton's past life. Woodward endeavours to get Julia to elope with him, but as she hesitates ho promises to como back at midnight. By a little .subterfuge Ann, divining Woodward's attentions towards Julia, takes the latter's place in the oar when it returns. They drive to an inn 40 miles away. Hero a scene takes place, and Ann makes her escape, and Woodward, in order to cut off hor retreat, jumps out. of a window and is killed. Ann is subsequently tried for the murder of Woodward, but eucceeds in proving her innocence. David Berinton, whoi has known Ann all her life, falls in love with her. After the trial he escorts her back to his home, v?hero they have a happy reunion with Julia, who by this time has quite recovered her usual gay and bright spirits. Tho acting throughout of Alice Joyce (Ann Wharton) and Percy Marmont (David Berinton) is very fine. The supports include a Gaumont Graphic and "The Lightning Raider" (No. 5).
