GAELIC SOCIETY

The first monthly meeting of the Gaelio Socicty for this year was held in the Oddfellows' Hall, Rattray street, last night. There was a large attendance of those in whose veins the blood of the old Highland o!ans is still flowing, and all present thoroughly enj wed tnemsofcres as they mingled with their frienda oind listened again to the national songs sung in the oldest of langu&ges, ns they heard the skirl of tho pipes, and as they watched soma young girl dancing a Highland! fling. Cordiality, good-fellowship, and a freo and easy atmosphere prevailed througiiout, and tho gathering set the keynote for many functions of a similar kind during the year. Chief MThorson occupied the ohaar, and was supported on tho platform by a number of ohieftains and officials of the society, and by Mr M'Lean, a visitor from London, to whom a hearty welcome was extended During tho course of the evening items were rondered by tho following: —Songs— Mra M'lvcr; Mr Morrison, Mrs Robertson. Miss Eager, Mr Scott, Chieftain Kenneth Cameron (by special request), Mr Ross, Mr Angel, and Mr J. D. Cameron. Miss 'M'Lcnnan danced a Highland fling, and Mr and Miss Eager sang a duet. Master Munro also gave a selection on the bagpipes. Mr Bryson tols the accompanist, and tho national musio was played by Pipers G. Munro and L M'Kißop.
