ALLAN WILKIE SEASON

"Sho Stoops to Conquer" was presented by tho Allan Wilkio Dramatic Company to a delighted houso in His Majesty's Theatro last night. Goldsmith's comedy need no_ recommendation 'o tho discriminating mind. The mere fact that it is still being played so many decades after tho death of its author is tho best possible testimony to it 3 worth, and the human interest of the story appeals just as strongly to a twentieth century audieneo as ever it did to tho ladies ancl gentlemen of "Merrio England." The old comedy is a refreshing change from tho usual class of light drama, and those who havo not seen it ns presented by the visiting company should not fail to utilise tho last opportunity of doing so to-night. In no other production yet has Mr Wilkin and the members of his capable company appearod to better advantage. "THILHY." The revival of that well-known play "Trilby" will take* place at Ilis Mujesty's Theatre to-morrow night, when the Allan Wilkio Company will produce it. Mr Wilkio will play Svongali and Miss Frediswydo-Hunter-Watts will characterise "Trilby, of tho perfect .Toes." Du Manner's novel of artist life in the Qu;u'tier Latin was in itself something of a sensation, but it is now safe to say that Potter's dramatised version of the world-famous "Trilby," Svengali, Gecko, 'Little Billie, and tha resfcv'The play is replete with dramatic incident, but tho climax is especially fine. Little Billio and his friends are beseeching "Trilby" +o remember them, but Svengali keeps her under his spoil, and she replies to them with peals of harsh laughter. Meanwhile, Svongali is tiring hip strength in the strain of exerting hypnotic influence, and finally ho shudders and falls dead. The famous song "Ben Bolt" is associated -with tho play, and a capable, supporting cast is seen. The box plan is now open at tho Bristol. ,
