(Received Jan. 5, at 10.40 p.m.) Scores are reported to have been killed in a violent earthquake which affected many parts of Mexico. Tho centre of the disturbances is believed to be near the Volcano Orizaba. • The State of Vera Cruz suffered the greatest damage. Wild scenes of panic were enacted there. Manv natives rushed to the churches, where they prayed. A similar panic occurred at Toluca, Cuernavaca, and Puobla.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
