EARTHQUAKE IN MEXICO
"SCORES REPORTED KILLED. WILD SCENES OF PANIC. Press Association.—By Telegraph—Copyright. MEXICO CITY, January 5. (Received Jan. 5, at 10.40 p.m.) Scores are reported to have been killed in a violent earthquake which affected many parts of Mexico. Tho centre of the disturbances is believed to be near the Volcano Orizaba. • The State of Vera Cruz suffered the greatest damage. Wild scenes of panic were enacted there. Manv natives rushed to the churches, where they prayed. A similar panic occurred at Toluca, Cuernavaca, and Puobla.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
