A Christchurch Press Association telegram states' tliat Sub-inspector Mullancy, of Christchurch, has been promoted to be inspector, and is to be transferred to Whangarei. Sub-inspector Dew, of Gisborne, will go to Christchurch.
The Acting Primate (Bishop Julius) will arrive in Dunedin to-night for the consecration of the Bishop-elect of Dunethn, and will preach in St. Matthew's Church tomorrow evening.
Miss Rattray and Miss Gecrin have each received from their Majesties the King and Quean of Belgium, tho bronzo modal of Queen Elizabeth with accompanying diploma in recognition of sendees rendered for the relief of distress in Belgium during tho war.
Mr G. Manson, N?w Zealand Government Agent in Melbourne, arrived in Wellington by the Manuka, and will spcaid his annual' vacation ill New Zealand.
Mr Benno Sclierek, who has introduced many musical stars to New Zealand, returned to Wellington by the Manuka on tho musical staff of the Williamson Grand Opera Company (says tho Dominion). During tho past live years he lias been professionally engaged in England and America.
Mr Frank Hutchens, the brilliant Hawera pianist, aiow on the staff of tho Now South Wales Government Conservatorium, Sydney, arrived from Australia by the Manuka tin Sunday evening. After a brief visit to his people he is to tour with tho Verbrugghen Orchestra as solo pianist. Mr Jerome Patrick, formerly of Dunedin, who has had a varied theatrical career in America and' who lately staged "Daddies" for Messrs J. and N. Tait in Australia, arrived from Sydney by tho Manuka en route to Dunedin. In New Ybrk, Mr Patrick was fortunate in seouring an engagement under Mr Belasco, and appeared successfully in tho war-timo play, "Marie Odile."
