There are poisons which are rapidly fatal to man, yet which havo comparatively little effcct upon animals. Dogs and horses can take 10 times as much morphine in comparison to their body weight as man can. Tho pigeon can take 509 times as much, while a -frog is unhurt by a dose 1000 times greater, weight forweigiit, than ono which will kill a human being.
