AMUSEMENTS.
The head-line film on the Queen's programme is "Tho Silent Witness," with Gertrude M'Coy in the title role. "Shoulder Arms," the great Chaplin comedy, will also be screened to-day, together with a new episode of "The Fighting Trail" serial. Bessio Barriscale scones a new triumph in "Rose o' Paradise," tho new picture at Everybody's Theatre to-day > as tho little country girl who is all the time, an heiress. She manages to save a wrongfully accused man in the nick of time. The cruel plot which is planned by her guardian is frustrated, and all ends happily. The play is full of quaint and fascinating touches, and Bessie Barriscale is bonny, (jonvincing, and wholesomely pretty throughout. Praise must be given to the scenic settings, and also the photography. Tho hill and forest scenes are wonderful. A full supporting programme follows. An excellent programme will be submitted to-night at the Green Island Pictures. The hgadliner is entitled f 'A Jealou3 Woman," and the supports include a gazette, a comedy, and a further episode of tho serial "The Purple Domino." A programme of varied interest will be screened to-night at the St. Kilda and Roslyn Theatres, headed by the winsome Metro star, Viola Dana, in s " Satan Junior," adopted from the novel by Dma Archway. It is delightfully amusing and refreshing, giving' Miss Dana ample scope for her talents. Th<S supports include a gazette, a comedy, and a further episode of the serial "Tho Wolves of Kultur." VAUDEVILLE AT PALMI7RSTON. By arrangement with the Plumer's Enterprises, the Royal Togos and Louis Alsace Vaudeville Company will visit Palmerston on Monday. The members" of the com, pany are all well-known artists from the Fuller circuit, and an excellent entertainment can be looked forward to. The Roval Togos will include in their clever juggling act the "slide for life, when the Japanese will climb a steel wire tied from tho roof, blindfolded. Reserved seats are to be obtained from A.ppleby's, stationer, Palmer ston. THE ROYAL TOGOS. Mosgiel residents will have tho pleasure' of witnessing the Royal Togos to-night at the Coronation Hall, assisted by a strong company of artists, including Louis Alsace, Wendy Dale and Alphonso (in_ humourous sketches), Miss Lalla Knight (Ivric soprano), Miss O'Hara Mitsu (the only Japanese lady pianist appearing on the stage)'. George Togo's wonderful feat in a blindfold slide for life with only a fieri dor wire between Togo and eternity, is also shown. Wherever they have appeared packed houses have greeted their_ performances, and the residents of Mosgicl_ are to be congratulated in securing a visit from this company.
