Owing to the largo number of medical students requiring training it would bo impossible to iind builieient clinical material suitablo for the training of nurses in ether administration in Dunediu Hospital under present circumstance.?." Tho syllabus of a course of six lecturedemo list rations on tlio nursing of influenza patients, compiled for V.A.D. workers on duty at temporary hospitals, as submitted by tho medical superintendent, lias been approved. The medical superintendent reported that there was a difliculty in arranging, the admission of female patients to the Duncdin Hospital for operation, owing to Victoria W urd still being l requisitioned for diphtheria patients. There wero 54 female patients for surgical operations awaiting admission. Tho Visiting Committee has been authorised to report to tho board as to tho erection of screens on balconies of Batchelor and Alexandra Wards. Reports havo been received from the district health officer and medical superintendent in reference to accommodation to provido for influenza patients at tlio Otago Benevolent Institution, and also from the latter as to further provision being mado, and the uso of Duncdin Hospital. Tlio quotation received from Messrs J. and T. Christie for making and supplying hot press for tho Dunedin Hospital kitchen has been accepted.' Kino _ applications hare been received for the position of plumber at the Dunedin Hospital. and tho matter has been referred to a. committee consisting of the chairman, Messrs Talboys, Scurr. and the Rev. F. G. Cumming - to report to the board.
