Janellos, an Italian ,alone completed the course in the Bournemouth seaplane race (10 laps of a 20-mile course). His average speed was two miles a minute. Heavy mist interfered with the race, and forced Hawker and another to descend after the first lap, being unable to find tho mark boat.
