LAWN TENNIS
COSY DELL CLUB. The annual general meeting of the above club was held on Wednesday. Mr F. W. Parker occupied the chair, and thero was a fair attendauco of members. Tho annual report stated that tho membership had been well maintained. Tho club entered two teams in tho association competition last season—one in tho B and one in tho O Grade. Tho B team won a fair percentage of its matches, and the C team was defeated for the junior flag by North-East Valley in the play-off. The financial position is considered satisfactory, considering tho circumstances during tho war. In moving the adoption of the report and balance sheet, tho Chairman congratulated tho club on tho financial position, and expressed the opinion that it would have a veTy successful season. Other members spoke in a similar strain, and the report and balanco sheet were adopted. The election of office-bearers resulted as follows President, Mr W. Burt; vicepresidents—Messrs J. J. Clark, J. Dick, J. Gaibraith, N. Smith, and J. 11. A. M'Pheocommittee—Mesdames Parker, Logan, Turnbull, Misses Broad and White, Messrs Turnbull, Partridge, Jensen, and Hunter, treasurer, Mr F. W. Parker; secretary, Mr R. Park, jun.; auditor, Mr J. Hogg; delegates to Otago Lawn Tennis AssociationMessrs Hunter and Park. • The Chairman mentioned that several of their soldier members were back, and would bo playing again this season. The opening day was fixed for Saturday September 27. ' A social hour was then spent by the members.
