PENINSULA ROAD BOARD.
The. monthly meeting of the Peninsula Koad Board was beld on Saturday, and waj attended by Messrs J. A. Johnston (chairman) TJ Landreth, D. Robertson, and W Stewart. The board considered th© advisability oJ erecting finger boards showing -tho dangerous roads for motor traffic and it wa= decided to write to the Motor Club askin" is to co-operato in tho matter The Chairman reported that'a deputatior had waited on the chairman of tho Meetric Power and Lighting Committee of tlio OiU Council. The chairman and Mr Robcrttsor , were aathorised to receive a report fi-oir the engineer regarding electric lightin" power. c Mr Landreth reported that a slip hac occurred on Parteriield's road.—Work to Ik attended to by the two surfacemen. Messrs Cossens and Black wrote asfeim the board to remove the stone-crusher an< elevator.—Olerk_ to attend to tho storage o tho machinery in Dunedin. _Mr R. Black wrote applying for peinnis sion to erect a swing gate across an unusc< road opposite his property.—Request grante< during tho pleasure of tho board. Mr Jury asked that tho water-tables b cleaned from the bridge to Mathieson's.to attend to the work, with thi assistance oi Mr Jury. The clerk was instructed to inspect thi bridges and to report at tho next meeting. The Secretary of tho Hospital and Chant able Aid Board wrote asking what provisioi had been made against a recrudescence o the inßaenza. epidemic.—Clerk to reply.
