There "will be a special children's matinee presentation of "The Better 'Olo" at navgWard s Queen's, and King Edward Theatres this afternoon. The final screenings «£' d<? at the Queen's only this evening, ino picture will be shown twice, and patrons may reserve by 'phono for either session. ( To describe Constance Talmadge in Romance and Arabella" as saucy, piquant dainty is but faint praise. The Metro feature, "Sylvia on tho Spree " has proved most popular at Hayward's lneatre, and will be presented for two more «venings,_ finishing on Thursday night. Emmy Weblen wears sortie beautiful gowns, and m tho ro!o of a. young lady in search of adventure on Broadway, gets into some rare scrapes. Hayward's augmented orchestra and clever little Ethel Blackie in her characterisations add immeasurably to the entertainment. Several very pleasing pictures constitute the programme now being screened at the Plaza Theatre. The star film is entitled "Brave and Bold." with Geo. Walsh in the principal part. Tho story has to do with two rival contractors, both of whom are after a foreign Government contract amounting to a, thousand million dollars. The events leading up to the securing of tho contract by the hero of the tale are most interesting. The supports are tip-top, and include a two-reel Sunshine comedy, a. I'ox News, and a Mutt and Jeff cartoon. A change of programme is announced for the Coronation Picture House, St Kilda to-night, when the drama. "My Old Kentucky Home." featuring Rupert Julian (a New Zcalander), -will be screened. Excellent supports, including an amusing comedy and the seventh episode of "Th© Purple Domino," arc additional items. Tho new bill to b e presented to Roslyn picture patrons to-night is a drama "of human life, "Tho Unattainable." featuring the celebrated English actress. Dorothv Davenport. A beautiful scenic, latest Gazette, and an excellent oomedv make up the supports. Portobollo will have an opportunity this evening of seeing Snowy Baker in the drama. "The Enemy Within." -which picture created a. great nam 0 for its staja day or two ago in Dunedin. Good supports are included, in tho programme. Patrons of Our Allies' Pictures, Port Chalmers, will see Australia's great athlete Snowy Baker to-r.ight in the sensational drama pf way-'back life, in "The Lure of tho Bush.
