MINING.

Tho Rise and Shine No. 1 dredge obtained 460z 2dwt for 134 hours' work last week. The master .of the Rising Sun dredge reports a return of 16oz 15dwt for 130 hours' -work. . Tho following report has been received from the manager of tho Ohinenuiri mine: For the week ended Aucrot 9, the south block Queen reef, No. 7 stope was taken out to south rise. The No. 8 stope lias been broken out from main rise for a distance of Bft. The rrof is Bft wide, showing tellurido. Tho Royal reef No. 6 slope, has been advanced from south rise 9ft. The reef at this point is rather disturbed, caused by intersection with the east and west break. The Camoola low lovol has been "advanced 20ft; total dtatnnco driven is 284 ft. The country which is being passed through is interlaced with quartz stringers and is of a hard nature to break.
