KING'S THEATRE
A change of programme was presented at tho King's Theatre on Saturday afternoon and evening. Its outstanding feature is tho emotional "Fox melodrama, "A Touch of Sin," in which Gladys Brockwell has fill' scope for hot wonderful powers of depicting with vivid intensity the varied passions of the human heart. At the beginning of the story Mary Livingston is betrayed in New York by a Western miner, Dick Mallaby. When she meets him again out West he proves himself to be still the s:ime low scoundrel; but in Watt Tabor f|uita a different man comes , upon the scone, lie marries her on the spur of the moment o-ie day to save her from being sent to gnol, and thereafter he constitutes himself her powerful and faithful protector. Watt has enemies of his own, as well as Mary's encniiesj to contend with in the Western township of Golden City, and the usual fierce bar room fights and murderous shootiiu; scenes abound in plenty. Watt proves himself a handy man both with his fists and with his gun, and he has the luck to win in his mining , ventures great wealth, which he promptly spends on rdans to make Mar? really happy. Though* at first she cares nothing for him, his persistent manly devotion wins her heart in the end, a-irl together they triumph over the evil past and all their enemies, and win through to happiness. Another attractive part of tlio programme is a cowboy picture showing the experiences of a tenderfoot out among the boys who have been born and bred to the outdoor life. The clever riding of Tom Mix makes the picture.
