LOCAL OPTION—A FARCE.
TO Tn* EDITOR.
Sir, —With reference to tho letter I sent to your columns a fow days ago under tho abovo heading, someone might take a wrong meaning and think that I was casting a reflection on the soldier for whom the social was given. Such wag not my intention, as he was, in my esteem, a very fine type of soldier. My letter was simply ono of protest against the custom of having drink at socials to returned soldfers.—l am, eto., Ajjtioxjs MoTiren.
