MINING.

Thei manager of the Rising Sun mine (Auckland) reports as follows :--Stoping has been continued during the week on No. 1 reef in No. 2 block. Tho reef is an averago width of 2jft and of fair value. Stoping was also in hand on No. 2 reef over tho intermediate level. The reef is 2ft wide, and the ore of good grade. The secretary of tho Nokomai Hydraulio Sluicing Company reports that a wash u.p wis made at No. 2 claim, the result being ? A start was made on Friday, 15th inst., to strip off the top material of the next paddock with three shifts. No. 3 claim also had a wash up for a return of 1730z 18dwt for the paddock.
