Mr Rose, Labour M.P. for Aberdeen North, has quitted the Labour Party until Mr Neil MTLean, who was censured by the party for refusing to stand during the singing of the National Anthem in the House six weeks ago, resigns his post as Whip to the Labour Party—A and N.Z. A few Opposition members also rose, doubtless in recognition of the Premier, not as party leader, but as the chief of the nation. Other* of the Opposition took the ordinary party line and remained seated, but the rest of the House would not have this, and shouted, " Stand up! in no persuasive manner, and one by one most of the Opposition began to stand up.
