Government withdrawing contentious clauses. Hie Government also' dropped the Enemies Repatriation Bill, the Hon. F. S. Malan stating that most of the enemy subjects who had f been reported as constituting a danger to the State had already been repatriated at their own request.. A Bill granting an amnesty to deportees and rebels of 1914 was passed. The Minister of Mines (Mr Malan) his announced the appointment of a commission, including the Government Mining Engineer, representatives of the Chamber of Mines, the Federation of the Trades Unions, and the Miners' Union, t# investigate the mining crisis.—Reuter.
