Conforence, to be opened in Wellington on July 3, a number of interesting remits ivill be considered. t ,A from tho Auckland Carpenters' Union proposes the formation of a Workmen s and Soldiers' Council to deal with I tho problem of repatriation. The union is f of tho opinion that the Returned Soldiers' g Association would welcome the idea," thus i making it possible to form such councils. r • Ihe Auckland Coach Workers' Union r sends a remit as follows"That, in the event of the Labour Party being returned to power, all war loans be repudiated " Many amendments to the Shops ' and UHioes Act are ■ urged by the Wellington urocers Assistants' Union, which desir-ss a 44-hour week.
