MENTAL DISEASES
NEW STATE INSTITUTION. (Psb United Peess Association.) (MRISTCHURCH, June 21 Tho Hon. G. W. Russell etates that it is decided to make an important cliange in the system of caring for patients suffering trom mental diseases. The Health Department has purchased for a State institution a property at Sockburn for patients who have lucid intervals and who should be placed in an establishment distinct from an ordinary mental hospital. The institution will bo m charge of Dr Gribbon, superintendent of the Sunnyeide Mental Hospital Patients will be sent to it from other parts of the dominion. The Minister says the scheme will not add to the financial burdens of the Mental Hospitals Department.
