From the commencement New Zealand forced the game, but a rush by New South Wales a few minutes later resulted in the home team spring a try. From a rally New Zealand secured the ball, and crossed the line. New Zealand' continued to force the game for the rest of the first half the scores at half-time beins : New South Wales, 8; New Zealand, 10. From this on, though the New Zealaniders were attempting tlo force the game, the home team took the attack from their hands, and won by 39 points to 31. v .
