RED CROSS SOCIETY

A very enjoyable afternoon was spent at tho Montecillo Horns on JMonday, when Brigadier-general Richardson paid a visit there and addressed the members of the Red Cross on work that had been done during the war. The executive is very grateiul to General Richardson for affording it this opportunity oi hearing his views on lied Cross work, and is also greatly obliged to all those who helped to make the afternoon such a success. Members of the Red Cross Society are notified thai Tuesday, June 3, being the King's birthday, the rooms will be closed. The executive acknowledges with thanks goods from Caversham Nursing Division, Kelso, Mosgiel, Roslyn and' Kaikorai, and Duhback Y.W.C.A.; from Maungatim, £4 6s 2d; collection in boxes —Mr Canter (tobacconist) 16s, Hamilton Tea Rooms 4s 4d, Amos (railway fruit stall) 7s 2d. The following donations to the Red Cross Military Convalescent Home aro gratefully acknowledged:—Mrs Currie, 501b bag of flower; Miss Ansell, cushions; Mrs A, D. Bell, fruit, cake, and sweets; H. W. Trotman (A-M.P. Society), motor rido for three patients; Miss NicJaol, 101b butter; Miss Allan, cake; Mrs Glendining, jam; Mrs Livingston, fruit; Mts Acton Adams, cake, books, cigarettes; Mrs Colquhoun, music; Thomson and - Co., 21 dozen cordials and soda water; Mrs O'Connor, books; Mrs Mirams, cakes.
