At a meeting of the Canterbury District Repatriation Board to-night, Mr Leadley (eeeretary of the Returned Soldiers 5 Association), entered an emphatio protest against the retention of girls in positions previously filled by men who had gone to tho front and who were now in need of employment Ho particularly mentioned in this connection tho Hospital Board, and various banks. A deputation was appointed to watt on various publio bodies and institutions in connection with the employment of women, with a view to having them replaced by returned soldiers.
