M Jntoah) presided over a largo gathering of both members and inends, and altogether a most enjoyable evening was spent. Tho chairman read greetings from a kindred body in Auckland He went on to say that the club had a successful period last year, and startling events had taken place all over the world* Inoy were now looking forward to the time wheif tho Peace Treaty would bo signed. 0 club felt tho loss of several valued members at the war, but would welcome back those who were spared to return. Th* speaker hoped the coming season would be a successful one Regret was expressed that Bro. G. B. Laidlaw, leader of tho orchestra, was unable to be present on account of sickness, and members wished him a speedy recovery. ■ It was resolved that the club celebrate Empire Day as had been the custom in the past.
