MARTIAL LAW AT LEIPZIG.
NOSKE'S SUCCESSFUL SURPRISE,
BERLIN, May 12. Government troops .have occupied X.*eipzig. They hold all the principal buildings. Martial law has been proclaimed and all bpartacisl newspapers have been suppressed.
iSoske's (Defence Minister) occupation of Leipzig "was such a complete surprise that the Spartacists were unable to resist. The Spartacist leaders have been arrested. Serious disturbances are expected owing to the Workmen's Council's threat of a general strike. Tbo wildest excitement prevails.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
UNREST IN" EASTERN GERMANY.
ON THE POLISH FRONTIER,
. BERLIN, May 12. _. There is great unrest in the eastern districts of Germany, which the treaty assigns to Poland. Mass. demonstrations indicate that all classes, including the Independent Socialists, are preparing armed resistance against the Poles.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
