JAPANESE TRADE EXPANSION

(Received March 17, at 8.25 p.m.) The United States Tariff Commission has issued a report dealing with Japanese foreign trade; which increased from 670,000,000 dollars in 1914 "to 1,319,000 000 dollars in 1917. The ejeports, which amounted . to 316,000,000. dollars in 1913, readied 801,000,009 in 1917. The imports were 364,000,000. dollars in 1913 and 517,000,000 in 1917. The greatest gain was in exports to China. The exports to Britain and India amounted to 14,000,000 dollars in 1913 and 50,000,000 in 1917.
