PALMERSTON NOTES

(Feom Oon Own Cohbespondent.) ; PALMERSTON, October 24. On Tuesday evening a social in aid of the "Copper Trail" was held in the Town liall. Though the weather was far from promising there was a very large attendance, and an enjoyable evening was spent. The singing of " Please Give Me a Penny," by Miss May Teviotdale, resulted in a collection of over £5.

A very successful opening of the tennis club was hold yesterday afternoon. Fortunately tho weather proved finer than usual, and a pleasant afternoon was spent by the large number of people who assembled.
