SPORTS GALA
A vigorous ticket-selling campaign is being pursued this week with the idea of drawing a record gathering to Carisbrook on Saturday, when the postponed sporte gala in aid of dressing sheds for the Oval is to be held. Tho bill of fare prepared for the occasion is rich in attractiveness, the Rugby, hockey, soccer, and running contests promising to bo both exciting and interesting. The two running events liavc attracted some of tho fastest track performers, and very keen interest has been aroused in the Rugby match between the Otago representative team and a combined Pirates-University fifteen. Band music will enliven the proceedings, and oomforts for the ianer man will be on sale.
