OTAGO HIGH SCHOOL CADETS
Splendid weather greeted the Otago Boys' High School Cadets at Tahuna Park yesterday morning—a welcome change from the previous day's Antarctic weather conditions. The morning was spent in the usual camp routine and training, musketry, physical, and infantry drill. In the afternoon a display of military drill was given, and tho invitation of the rector and the cadet officers was very largely responded to by those interested in the school. Amongst those present were all the members of the Board of Governors and several chaplains. At 2 o'clock all squads paraded for instruction in the various branches of their training, and the camp programme in infantry drill and musketry instruction was adhered to for this hour. Tho signalling and ambulance sections and the bugle band also went through some interesting work, and at 3 p.m. the battalion, under Captain A. K. Anderson, marched past in column, Colonel J. Cowie Nicholls tkking tho salute. Major Cooper also viewod the ceremonial drill, At the conclusion of the parado Colonei Nicholls complimented the battalion on their marching and steadiness on parade, signalling out No. 8 platoon for special mention. This platoon consists of junior cadets. Thereafter the camp was thrown open for general inspection. In the evening a concert arranged by the Cadet Entertainment Committee was given, and much latent talent was unearthed, a thoroughly enjoyable two hours being spent. \ This afternoon tho programme of work ' will : no'"r!e field work near Lawyer's Head.
