OTAGO HARBOUR BOARD.
The following report has boon drawn up by the resident engineer (Mr Wilkie) for the month ended September 18:— During August, dredge 222 lifted 18,326 cubic yards, equal to 2a loads oi material, irom the following localities :-Kitchener street wharf 14 loads; north of Bowen pier, Port Uialmers, 4 loads; and south side of Bowen pier, 4- loads. Of this material the dredgings from Port Ciialmers were deposited at sea, and those from the Kitchener street wharf at the dredge Vulcan. The dredge steamed 78 miles, and , c ? al ; Durin S the month the dredge was docked and fitted with a new propeller, and at the same time some repairs were effected to the hopper doors During August the dredge Vulcan pumped into Lake Logan cubic yards of material received from dredge 222. During August two vessels were docked in the Otago dock and. three in the Port Chalmers dock. Ino various vessels occupied the docks for a totaJ of 332 hours.
