"BULLY" BEEF. ADVANCE IN CONTRACT PRICE. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. LONDON, September 17. (Received Sept. 18, at 7.30 p.m.) The Argentine meat packers' tenders for the new Government contracts ask 13s per dozen 12oz tins, as compared with 10s 9d at the last contract, on the ground of the increased cost of cattle. Possibly the Australian packers will secure a similar advance. KILLED AT THE FRONT. LORD THYNNE. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. LONDON, September 17. (Received Sept.'' 18, at 7.30 p.m.) Lord Alexander George Thynne, M.P. for Bath since 1910, and brother of the Marquis of Bath, has been killed in action. [Lord Thynne, who was 45 years of a<»e, saw 'service in South Africa, and accompanied the Somaliland Field Forces in 1903-1 as Router's special correspondent. He served in tho present war as major of the Royal Wilts Yeomanry, and won the D-S.O.]
