SUBMARINES AND SHIPPING
PORTUGUESE STEAMER SUNK. SURVIVORS REACH LAND. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. OTTAWA, September 16. (Received Sept. 17, at .11 p.m.) A crew of 16 have arrived at a Canardian Atlantic port. They were rescued in an open boat from a Portuguese steamer which had been torpedoed off the coast five days previously.
