OTAGO MOTOR CLUB
The sixth annual report of the Otago Motor Club states that tne financial position is satisfactory. The roads most irequently in use by motorists have been receiving the attention of the club, 'iho club had added 1-U9 new names to its membership roll during the year, 'ihe club extends to the various county councils and road boards its appreciation of tlie manner in wh.ch requests have been mot with regard to alterations and .improvements to roads. . Only one competition was held during the year, that being the Motor Cycle Reliability Trial to Timaru ajid return. The \v,ar has drawn heavily on the club's young members, which accounts ior the usual competitions not being held. Tlie club has to record with regret the loss in action of a'number of its members, and others are absent serving jn lands over the seas. To all those motorists who so willingly placed then- cars at tho disposal of the club's officials for the purpose of meeting and entertaining returned soldiers, thanks are expressed. The pleasure given, to wounded soldiers by an occasional outing is well worth while, and it is trusted that, with the kind co-operation of owners of cars, the club will be able to continue this good work.
Ihe balance sheet shows a credit balance of £372 13s. During tho year £135 was donated to tlie Clutha County Council, £200 to the Waikouaiti Countv Council, £5 to the Green Island Borough Council, and £5 to the Vincent County Council.
