WESTERN TAIERI DRAINAGE BOARD.
—— $ Messrs Kempshell, Dow, M'No ill, ami tieid attended _ the monthly meeting of tile Western Taieri Drainage Board on Monday the first-named presiding in tho absence or the chairman. The following work was reported finished tor tho month: —B drain cleaned from I opliir voaa to pumping station, Robinson's dram had been dragged, the boxes at ornaili s and C drain had been cleaned and repaired, a dam had been put in front of box at county hut, washouts at Berwick bank had been repaired. Tho raising of the bank between Robinson's iind Heenan's was in progress.—Received. Tho board declined to clean the drain from the pipe line in Mr T. Johnson's, complained of by Mr John Marshall, Woodside. t . ■ Messrs J. and P. _Dow, Momona, drew attention to the drain leading from their P r J?P. ei,t y between Messrs G. Nichol's and William Lindsay's. It required deepening —Foreman to report at next meeting. I.he Clerk of the Hungahunga Drainage Board wrote regarding a set of by-laws applicable to drainage boards. A meeting would be held, to which the board' was a»kod to send a delegate, also to contribute ±<1 as a snare of the cost of drafting It was resolved to contribute £l; but' no delegate to be sent. The engineer's report stated that Bryant's contract was ready for inspection but ho could not get out till next week. He asked thnt, if possible, the board arrange for nna! payment to be made on his certificate. He enclosed a letter from Mr Nelson ottering dredge material for sale.—Authority to make payment asicd for granted. Aeounis amounting to £143 7s lOd were passed for payment. Ihe board then went into committee on matters concerning a dredging plant.
