An inquest was held on Tuesday into the circumstances surrounding the death of Joifrc Allen Hastic, aged two ytsars and seven months. Kvidence was given by Hilda Harriet Hastie and Dr Evans, and a verdict was returned to the effect that death was due to heart failure, following- acute pneumonia. The Invercargill police were advised that 'Wm. Richards, a married man, aged about 54 years, residing with his wife and family at Clinton, had succumbcd suddenly 011 Tuesday at the residence of his brother-in-law, Mr Frew, Bair street, Invercargill. On Monday the deceased arrived from Clinton, ostensibly for the purpose of consulting a doctor. He retired on Monday night, and in tho morning was found dead. It is presumed that death was due to heart failure.
